If you are considering an alternative form of education for your child, choosing the right school can be a daunting task. But there are several steps parents can take to find the right fit. Meg Fox, principal of the Dragon Academy in Toronto, offers some tips:

"You really want a school that welcomes a visit from your child," says Dr. Fox, adding that the Dragon encourages students to sit in on classes for a day or two and get a sense of the school. "What I, or a parent, may describe may sound attractive. But it may not turn out that way. First-hand experience is more useful than any report."
